A fiddle tune, a few flying feet and a room full of people enjoying the same moment: ReJigged brings Celtic traditions to life through music and dance. Its concerts, workshops and community ceilidh make a lovely reason to spend an autumn weekend on both sides of Halifax Harbour.

ReJigged Festival 2026: General Information

Organized by the nonprofit New Trad Society, this annual event has celebrated Celtic music and dance since 2010. Its volunteer crew brings local and international artists together with audiences through performances and hands-on learning, welcoming longtime trad fans and curious newcomers alike.

Event Dates

  • Festival: October 22–25, 2026.
  • Concerts: Thursday, October 22–Saturday, October 24; doors at 6:45 p.m., shows at 7:30 p.m.
  • Workshops: Saturday, October 24.

Locations

Concerts and the Saturday ceilidh take place at Sanctuary Arts Centre, 100 Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth, NS. Workshop check-in is at Christ Church Hall, 61 Dundas Street, for music and song, and Sanctuary Arts Centre for dance.

Dartmouth is across the harbour from Cameo. Make a ferry crossing part of the outing, or travel by bus, taxi or car. Check current transit schedules for your arrival and return after the show.

Ticket Information

  • One concert: CA$42 general admission.
  • Festival pass: CA$97 for all three concert nights.
  • One workshop: CA$35.

Purchase through the official ticket page and review the checkout total. The festival welcomes families, with guests under 19 accompanied by a parent or guardian; the Saturday community ceilidh is for adults.

ReJigged Festival Highlights

Thursday: The MacGillivrays and Patricia Murray

Troy, Kendra and Sabra MacGillivray join Patricia Murray on October 22 for an evening rooted in the Highland traditions of Antigonish. Fiddle, song and dance come together at Sanctuary Arts Centre, offering a welcoming introduction to the festival’s mix of heritage and fresh performance.

Friday: Cassie and Maggie, Traverse and Nic Gareiss

Nova Scotia sisters Cassie and Maggie share the October 23 bill with Traverse, featuring Laura Risk, Nicholas Williams and Rachel Aucoin. Nic Gareiss joins the collaboration, adding percussive dance to the music. Choose Friday if you enjoy seeing artists exchange ideas across traditions.

Saturday: É.T.É., Yaëlle Azoulay, Nic Gareiss and Inn Echo

É.T.É. brings a modern take on Québécois traditional music to Sanctuary Arts Centre at 7:30 p.m. on October 24. Dancer Yaëlle Azoulay, Nic Gareiss with a solo dance show, and Inn Echo complete the concert lineup.

Music, Song and Dance Workshops

The Saturday workshops let you take part in the traditions yourself. Options include Gaelic song with Cathy Ann MacPhee, beginner tin and low whistle with Michael Roddy, and intermediate Scottish and Irish fiddle with Laura Risk. The workshop programme gives levels, times and what to bring, along with live and prerecorded online options.

Booking several sessions? The published discounts are 15% for three workshops with code Celtic3, 20% for four with Celtic4, and 25% for five or more with Celtic5. Choose sessions that fit your interests and schedule.

Community Ceilidh

Stay after Saturday’s concert for the free adult community ceilidh at Sanctuary Arts Centre. A caller guides the dancing, so you do not need a partner or previous experience. It is a chance to move from watching the performers to joining the fun.
