General admission covers one Grand Tasting session, including wine samples and complimentary food pairings. VIP includes those benefits, an extra hour before general admission begins and selected wines available only during that early hour. Explore Nova Scotia’s Wines and International Producers
The festival’s 2026 programme brings together 250 wines and more than 40 winery, wine-region and agency partners. International and local producers share the floor, giving you a chance to explore Nova Scotia’s wine scene alongside bottles from farther afield.
You do not need a cellar full of wine to enjoy the event. Start with a style you already like, ask what makes the next bottle different and leave room to discover something unexpected. Enjoy Food Pairings and Small Bites
More than 20 culinary partners are part of this year’s celebration, with complimentary small bites such as cheese, chocolate and hors d’oeuvres to explore alongside the wine. It is a chance to notice how food changes the flavours in your glass and to find a pairing you would like to try again.
The festival FAQ also confirms premium non-alcoholic wines and cocktails. Food samples are not intended to replace a meal, so plan lunch before an afternoon session or dinner before an evening tasting. A full kitchen back at your suite makes that part easy.

Find a bottle you would like to enjoy another day? The onsite retail store presented by Harvest Wine Beer Spirits lets guests purchase many of the wines featured at the tasting. Wine Fair Halifax: A Separate October Event
If you are comparing wine events in Halifax, check the date as well as the name. Wine Fair Halifax takes place on October 3, 2026, also at the Halifax Convention Centre. Now in its third year, it is produced by Cellar Events Inc.; the November Halifax International Wine Festival is organised by DeWolf Food & Wine Experiences.
Wine Fair Halifax features more than 200 curated wines from Nova Scotia wineries, Canadian vineyards and international producers. Its focus on wine culture includes sustainability and the stories behind the makers, with guided tastings and seminars at the Wine Fair Academy included with every ticket. The event supports the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Tourism Nova Scotia lists Wine Fair tickets at $95.38 per person, including taxes and fees. It is another option for an autumn trip to Halifax, with its own programme and tickets separate from the November festival.
Where to Stay for the Halifax Wine Festival
